FBI Regional Training Facility

EEA worked with facilities representatives at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and a design team to develop a master plan for a regional training facility to be used by the FBI at an existing rifle range. The 14-acre site initially housed several buildings, all of which would require renovations to be functional. EEA’s plan for the site included a wide variety of tools for training and accessibility:

• New administrative building
• Parking lots
• Running track
• Explosive detonation bunkers
• Rappel tower
• Sniper range
• Helipad
• Aircraft simulator pad
• Car/bus simulator pad
• Simunition house
• Indoor and outdoor shooting range
• Target storage trailer
• Firing range tower
• Maintenance garage

Per federal design requirements, stormwater retention would also need to be provided on the site. Additionally, the project planned to pursue Silver LEED Certification with the installation of green roofs, permeable pavers, grass pavers and several other sustainable features. Pending approvals of additional funding, the project was to be completed in multiple phases over the course of many years. At design completion, funding was not approved for completion of the project, but the estimated site budget was in excess of $4 million.
